The use of titanium root-form dental implants has revolutionized dentistry in regards to tooth replacement. Dental Implants are a predictable method of treatment where a titanium cylinder screw is placed in the bone and allowed to heal for three to six months. After the healing period is complete a crown restoration is supported by the implant for tooth replacement. In situations where multiple teeth are missing or when all of the teeth are missing multiple dental implants can be places to support the dental restoration. There are instances where there is not enough bone available to place dental implants. Bone grafting treatment allows for site preparation for future implant therapy. It is often necessary to obtain three dimensional radiographic analysis (dental tomography or CT scan) to complete the diagnosis and planning process for implant treatment.
