DENTAL IMPLANTS

Dental implants are a modern solution to providing you with permanent replacement teeth that are strong, natural-looking and feeling, and offer superb, safe, and predictable long-term results. With proper care, implants can last a lifetime and have a success rate of up to 98%. The results of dental implant therapy are esthetically pleasing, and once your implants are in place you will feel like you have your original teeth back.

GUIDED SURGERY
Dr. Nevins is a pioneer in the use of guided surgery for the placement of implants. This technique is highly accurate and allows Dr. Nevins to perform placement quickly, saving you time and often, allowing you to avoid multiple surgeries. Dr. Nevins has been using guided surgery since 2003, making him one of the first users of the technology. He has been involved with beta testing of multiple guided surgical systems, providing proof of principle and clinical evidence supporting this revolutionary approach.

In general, anyone healthy enough to undergo a routine dental extraction or oral surgery can be considered for an implant procedure. Patients should have healthy gums and adequate bone to hold the implant and be committed to good oral hygiene and regular dental exams. Heavy smokers, people suffering from uncontrolled chronic disorders such as diabetes or heart disease, or patients who have had radiation therapy to the head/neck area need to be evaluated on an individual basis.
Today’s dental implant surgery has become simpler and less invasive because of new methods like guided surgery and advances in implant design. Dr. Nevins routinely performs implant placement in our state-of-the-art office, usually under a local anesthetic. The treatment has two stages. First the implant is surgically placed with the utmost precision utilizing 3-D software and CT scans. After 4 months of healing the implant is ready to have the abutment and implant crown placed by the restorative dentist.
Under most circumstances, you will quickly recover and be able to see great improvement in your appearance. We always urge you to observe our post-operative instructions, which if followed properly will result in the shortest recovery time and best possible outcomes. Depending on the circumstance, Dr. Nevins will prescribe medications that will help you recover more quickly, such as an oral antibiotics or a prescription pain relief medicine. In most cases you will be feeling and looking your best in what seems like no time at all.
