About Dental Implants

If you have one or more missing teeth, dental implants offer the perfect solution for restoring a beautiful and lasting smile. Implants look and feel like your own teeth and are custom made to match the appearance of your natural teeth. You’ll be able to eat, speak and smile naturally without any discomfort.

Dr. Nevins and Dr. Mitchell, who have the knowledge and skill to offer you the most sought-after dental implant solutions available, will work with you to create a customized plan. Guided surgery with cone-beam CT-scan (CBCT) technology (a staple in Dr. Nevins’ office since 2003) allows for precise, minimally invasive placement of your implants. Fast bone healing is also possible through growth factor technology, making your treatment quick and easy.

As an option for you, we now offer same-day implant rehabilitation as well as single-tooth implant crowns and full-arch solutions. The treatment that’s best for you will depend on how many teeth are missing and how much bone is available. Our team will discuss your case and work together to develop a personalized treatment plan that best meets your needs.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS AND CONCERNS
Please reach out to our office for any further questions

If you’re healthy enough to undergo a routine dental extraction or oral surgery, you’re likely a good candidate for dental implant treatment. Before moving forward, we’ll make sure you have healthy gums and adequate bone to hold the implant. For optimal results, you also must be committed to good oral hygiene following the procedure and to visiting our office for regular dental exams. If you’re a heavy smoker, suffer from uncontrolled chronic disorders such as diabetes or heart disease, or have had radiation therapy to the head/neck area, you’ll need to be evaluated on an individual basis.

Advances in implant designs and new methods like guided implant surgery have made implant placement simpler and less invasive. Dr. Nevins routinely places implants in our state-of-the-art facility, typically using local anesthetic. Your treatment is completed in two stages. First, Dr. Nevins places your implant using 3D software and CT scans to ensure precision. After four months of healing, the abutment and crown can be placed. In some cases, Dr. Nevins and Dr. Mitchell can complete your treatment the same day. Our team will work with you to determine which implant treatment option best meets your needs.

Under most circumstances, you will recover quickly and notice a significant improvement in your smile right away. We urge you to follow our post-operative instructions for the shortest recovery and best possible outcome. Depending on your situation, Dr. Nevins may prescribe medications to help reduce your healing time, such as an oral antibiotic or prescription pain relief medicine. In most cases, you will look and feel your best in no time at all. Once healing is complete, your implants are easy to care for—all you have to do is brush and floss like you would natural teeth.

Same-Day Full-Arch Implant Solutions

With today’s technology, the team at Nevins Dental Center can immediately connect a temporary full-arch bridge to surgically placed implants. This means you’ll have natural-looking temporary teeth throughout treatment, with no need for dentures. Once the implants have fused with bone, your permanent bridgework can be designed and delivered. At the end of treatment, you’ll leave our office with a beautiful smile you know will stand the test of time.

Same-Day Dental Implant Tooth Replacement

Under the right circumstances, we can place your implants the same day your teeth are removed, significantly reducing the number of appointments necessary to complete your treatment. This specialized procedure requires a high level of expertise and collaboration that Drs. Nevins and Mitchell are proud to offer you. After treatment, you’ll leave the office with temporary teeth supported by implant(s). You just need to have enough bone for a stable implant, and to adjust your diet for 4 to 6 weeks so that you’re not putting biting pressure on the implant as it heals.

Single-Tooth Implant Crowns

If you choose this treatment, a dental implant will be placed in your bone to support a crown. While the process is completed in phases, the growth factor technology used at Nevins Dental Center allows for faster bone healing and shorter treatment times. Your final result is a long-term tooth replacement that is both functional and esthetic.

Creating Confident Smiles

Dental implants allow us to give patients like you their smiles back. The technology we offer makes the process comfortable and seamless, resulting in strong, esthetic restorations regardless of which solution you choose. The best part is, once your treatment is complete, you won’t be able to tell the difference between your implants and your natural teeth. And with proper care, your implants will last a lifetime.

Guided Surgery

Dr. Nevins is a pioneer in using guided surgery for dental implant placement. This highly accurate technique allows Dr. Nevins to quickly place implants, reducing the time you spend in the chair and eliminating the need for multiple surgeries. Dr. Nevins first began using guided surgery in 2003 and is one of the first dentists to implement this revolutionary technology, showing his commitment to providing patients like you with the best care possible.

Dr. Nevins did a thorough review of my medical history and then gave me an exam.
We were able to define a first step that made sense. He also put to rest some of the fears that had been caused by the first provider.
