Dr. Ben Smith is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics and is so excited to be treating and taking care of patients in Boston and the surrounding communities.
Dr. Smith graduated from Harvard University in 2010 and received a Master of Science degree in Reproductive and Cancer Biology from the John Hopkins School of Public Health. He graduated Summa Cum Laude and received his DMD from Tufts University. While at Tufts, Dr. Smith received the AAO Senior Student award, the American College of Dentists Award and the Class Award for Outstanding Peer Support and Leadership and was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon (OKU) society. He completed the ADEA Academic Dental Career Fellowship program presenting research multiple times at the ADEA Annual Conference and Bates Research Day and served as a course director and teaching assistant for multiple clinical and didactic courses.
Following dental school, Ben attended residency and earned his Certificate in Orthodontics and Master of Medical Science from the Harvard School of Dental Medicine. He has recently become Board Certified in Orthodontics by the ABO and was honored with the prestigious Anthony A. Gianelly Award from the Massachusetts Association of Orthodontists at the 2023 Yankee Dental Orthodontic Symposium.
He is a member of the American Academy of Orthodontists, the American Dental Association, and the Massachusetts Dental Society. Dr. Smith is passionate about delivering care with a high attention to detail and ensuring his patients have a great experience from start to finish. Every patient is unique, and Dr. Smith strives to provide the most customizable and personal experience in all aspects for his patients, including the most up-to-date technology and digital tools in the field.
As a native of Western MA, he takes pride in being born and trained locally. When he’s not treating patients, Dr. Smith spends most of his time with his wife and two sons, Ryder and Camden. He loves all Boston sports teams and the water and beaches of Cape Cod. He also coaches youth lacrosse throughout MA and helps aspiring young athletes reach their goals.
